Greenhouse Sports
Every child deserves a fair chance at life. Poverty means millions don’t. Greenhouse Sports exists to change that.

Greenhouse Sports is a youth development charity that uses structured sport and mentoring to help young people facing poverty achieve better life outcomes.
"Growing up in poverty, we never really had very much. Poverty was not having food for dinner. It was not being able to go to after-school activities. It was like now you’re restricted from even having fun. The Greenhouse coaches gave me a platform and resources to help me come out of all of the negative things that poverty brings alongside it. It prevented me from having the mindset that most kids growing up in my area had."
– Grace, Greenhouse young person
Through full-time Coach-Mentors embedded in schools in areas of high deprivation, Greenhouse provides consistent, long-term support in the places it is needed most. These Coach-Mentors are more than sports coaches. They are trusted adults, role models, and mentors who help young people build confidence, resilience, belonging, and brighter futures.
Sport is the hook, but the impact runs far deeper.
Since 2002, Greenhouse Sports has supported more than 80,000 young people. Today, the charity works with over 8,000 young people each year across more than 70 programmes in London, Leicester, and Portsmouth.
Greenhouse measures and strengthens its impact through an evidence-led approach, helping young people attend school more often, improve wellbeing, raise aspirations, and develop the life skills they need for the future.
The players of Postcode Lottery have been a vital part of that journey, raising more than £5 Million over the past decade. Their support has helped Greenhouse grow, innovate, and reach thousands more young people with life-changing coaching and mentoring.
