Car Prize
Smiles In Swansea
A Swansea man, who'd been trying to save for months for a car, plans to take a road trip along the Gower Peninsula after winning a brand new BMW!
Spencer Martin, from Caswell Street, won the car when his postcode SA1 4HT was drawn as a winner today.
The care worker, who plays with two tickets, also scooped a £10,000 cash prize. Commenting on his lucky win, Spencer said, "I've been saving for a car for the past 18 months and all I could afford was an old banger so it was a bit of a shock to win a brand new BMW. I wasn't expecting it at all. It's a lovely car and I'm really chuffed. The first trip I'll take as soon as I get the keys will be along the Gower Peninsula. It's a beautiful part of the country.
"The money is also ideal because I need to do a few things around the house and now I can just get on with it. This means a lot to me because I always have to save for things I need.
"I signed up to play People's Postcode Lottery after my friend won a cash prize last year and I'd recommend it to anyone."
Another winner on Caswell Street was Helen Rees, who won £5,000. The hotel worker said, "I couldn't believe it when I opened the envelope. It was so exciting and all I wanted to do was jump up and down.
"Normally I can't even win an argument and now I've won £5,000. What a wonderful experience. I'm going on holiday to Cornwall with my dog Holly so this will give me extra spending money."
People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Danyl Johnson, who revealed the prizes, said, "The Swansea winners definitely put a smile on my face. It was a great day for everyone. With a minimum of 30% going to charities, players like Spencer and Helen are helping to raise so much for good causes around the country."
Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £129 Million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. Supported charities near Swansea include Volcano Theatre, which received £8,640 last year from People's Postcode Trust, and Community Urban Skills Project was awarded £2,000 from Postcode Community Trust for its Skate 'n' Skoot Under 10s Sessions.
Also this weekend, Havant scooped a Saturday Street Prize, five players in Huntly each collected £25,000 cheques, our incredible Dream Holiday prize was won in Middleton and the June Postcode Millions landed in Torquay.
