Street Prize

Delight In Dunbar

07 September 2019 - EH42 1JE - Dunbar - £30,000

In September's draws, we're announcing £30,000 Street Prize winners every single day. With our #30KADAY cheques landing daily we'll be bringing cash windfalls to streets across the country.

Our first September #30KADAY winners are four lucky Dunbar neighbours. They started their weekend off with a bang after scooping an incredible cash prize of £30,000 each thanks to their postcode. The Woodbush Court winners landed the lump sums when EH42 1JE was announced as a winner of today's £30,000 Street Prize

Fun Money

Jude, a signaller for Network Rail, was one of the lucky residents. She said, "It's beginning to hit home very slowly - it's just amazing! I'm not sure what I'm going to spend it on yet as I don't want to waste it, but I will definitely use some of it as fun money. I'm also in the process of doing my kitchen up so I don't need to worry about paying that off anymore."

Jude decided to sign up to play the lottery after volunteering with the charity, Riding for the Disabled (RDA), which has so far received over £2.6 Million thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery. She said, "I volunteer with RDA and discovered at one of their events that the lottery gives funding to the charity. I signed up right away and I couldn't be happier that I did now! It's amazing that both the charity and I have won."

Thrills And Treats

Allan, a self-employed painter and decorator, was another of our winners. He said, "It's still not quite sunk in yet, all I know is I am very happy about it!"

Allan's wife, Gayle, and son, Jordan, were also at home when Allan found out how much he had won, and were equally as thrilled. When asked what he would spend the prize money on, Allan said, "I'm sure I will treat everyone to something nice, but I have no idea what that will be quite yet - it's just nice to have the money for now!"

As the two other winners weren't available to pick up their prizes, their cheques will be paid directly into their bank accounts.

Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson was in Dunbar to meet our winners. He said, "I'm over the moon for all of our winners in Dunbar. I'm sure they will decide soon what to spend their prize money on - I hope they enjoy it when they do!"

Good Causes Around Britain

Players aren't the only ones who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery. 32% of the ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our players, over £474 Million has been raised for deserving projects around the world. Find out find how player support makes a difference by checking out our charity news. Our amazing players have supported more than 6,500 good causes to date.

Today's Street Prize is part of a draw promoted by Woodland Trust. The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity. The organisation plants, protects and restores native woodland and owns and manages over 1,000 woods across the country. These are all free for visitors to enjoy because Woodland Trust believes life is simply better with trees. Our players have supported Woodland Trust's work with more than £10 Million funding.

Many local charities have also been supported by players, including Kids Love Clothes. This charity has received over £18,000 in funding to provide a wardrobe of clean, ironed and seasonally-appropriate, secondhand clothing to the parents of babies and children.
