Big Win In Brookside

08 March 2020 - TF3 1LL - Brookside - £30,000

This weekend our Sunday Street Prize has landed in postcode TF3 1LL. Four Brookside neighbours are celebrating winning cheques for an amazing £30,000 each.

Absolutely Fantastic

One of our lucky winners was David. He said, "I'm so excited, I've never won anything like this before! I'm feeling absolutely fantastic."

David celebrated with his family despite his son being overseas. He said, "I've told my wife, Delva, she's very pleased. I let my son, Philip, know too, he's a staff sergeant in the Royal Engineers. He's in army training in Kenya at the moment, but he's messaged back saying it's fantastic!"

Although David wasn't sure about how he'd spend his winnings, he has a few ideas. He said, "I don't know what we'll do, we haven't really thought about it yet. Maybe go on some holidays - we went to Egypt last year and we'd like to go back there next year. I might buy another car for my wife as well."

Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson was in Brookside to hand over David's cheque. He said, "What a fantastic day it has been in Brookside. I am so pleased for all our winners, I hope David gets a lovely holiday next year and I'm sure our other winners who we were unfortunately unable to meet will be celebrating as well!"

Amazing Charities

With People's Postcode Lottery, 32% of the ticket price goes to amazing charities and good causes around the world. Our players have raised over £500 Million so far!

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by WWF-UK, which has received over £15 Million thanks to our generous players. This funding is helping the charity work hard towards reversing the effects of plastic waste, climate change, illegal wildlife trade and habitat loss to bring about a brighter future for our planet.

Players of People's Postcode Lottery have also supported local causes. Last year St Matthew's CE Primary School received £1,000 in funding to help purchase outdoor education resources for students.
