Big Win In Birkenhead

09 May 2021 - CH41 8HH - Birkenhead - £30,000
Judie has fabulous £30,000 cheques for four lucky players in Birkenhead

A couple who are looking to start a family, and a midwife who started playing our lottery after her colleague won big, are among four Birkenhead neighbours winning a wonderful windfall today. The neighbours were left shocked but happy after CH41 8HH was named as the lucky postcode. Each of our winners took home £30,000 prizes.

Every day throughout our May draws we'll announce one postcode as a £30,000 Street Prize winner. All the players in that postcode will win a £30,000 cheque for every ticket they hold.

Genuinely Amazing

The cash prize is going to help one winner's family dreams become a reality. Paul learned of his windfall during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt. On seeing his £30,000 cheque revealed, he said, "Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. That is genuinely amazing."

Paul knew exactly how he would spend his winnings as he and his wife Kirsty are hoping to start a family soon. He added, "I'm over the moon. That is going to be so useful. This will hopefully be the last piece of the jigsaw to get what we want."

Paul, who works in the travel industry, is also hoping to make some home improvements with the money. He said, "My wife is quite a keen DIYer, so she'll purchase everything and get me to put it up. A few weeks ago we were talking about doing the back garden. We want to get the house right if we do have a family."

He was also hoping to make an upcoming holiday even more special, "We've got the Maldives booked in October for our two-year anniversary. I might pay for an upgrade on the flight!"

However, Paul's first plans were a little closer to home. When asked how he would celebrate he said, "I'll have a can of coke and watch the football. Maybe have a takeaway as well but I'll let my wife pick!"

Paul was thrilled to hear about the amount of money raised for charity and added, "Winning is great, but for me when I signed up it was all about the charity. The biggest winner will always be the Charities. That's why I signed up."

Can't Believe It

Our second £30,000 winner was Victoria. After seeing how much she'd won, she said, "Oh my God! Really? I'm feeling shocked. I can't believe it you know!"

Victoria works as a midwife and first started playing our lottery after her colleague scooped £30,000 two years ago. She added, "I just can't believe it. It's a lot isn't it?"

The mum-of-two was unsure of how to spend her winnings, but a few ideas did come to mind. She said, "I don't know to be honest! I think I just have to take it all in. Maybe even buy a house and put a deposit down. Maybe holidays when we're allowed.

"I'll probably take the family out for a meal to have a celebration and nice little shopping trip. I'm sure the kids will love it too!"

Absolutely Gobsmacked

Another winner, also called Victoria, gasped as Judie revealed her big cheque. Wiping away tears, she exclaimed, "Oh my! Oh, sorry, the tears are coming. I wasn't expecting that at all! I'm not a very lucky person, I'm absolutely gobsmacked."

Victoria is hoping to use her winnings to move to a new home. She added, "Doing a mortgage by yourself is quite hard but the dream of having a detached house has always been something I've been after.

"That amount of money is a vast amount and it will one hundred percent help on the way to be able to get that final home, maybe even a detached bungalow!"

The win follows more good news for Victoria who recently received a promotion at work. She's looking forward to celebrating with her parents. She said, "Myself and my parents are booked in for a nice restaurant, so that's going to be a toast for my promotion, and I'll treat my mum and dad to some food and wine!"

Victoria also had a special treat in mind for herself. She said, "I've always wanted a pair of Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo shoes. I'm going to definitely buy them. It's something I've always wanted but obviously other things come first. That'll be my treat to myself!"

Judie McCourt sent her best wishes to all our winners. She said, "I couldn't be happier for our winners in Birkenhead, it was so lovely to bring them this surprise! With new homes, treats and plans for families I can tell they'll be putting the winnings to good use. Congratulations again to them all!"
