Riches In Norwich

15 January 2022 - NR7 8HL - Norwich - £30,000

There's nothing like a whopping win to supercharge your Saturday! Seven Norwich neighbours scooped sensational £30,000 Street Prizes after their postcode, NR7 8HL, got lucky. One of the winners doubled their windfall to £60,000 as they played with two tickets.

Totally Over The Moon

Among our winners was Hayley, who shouted with joy after opening her golden envelope from Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson to reveal a £30,000 cheque. She exclaimed, "Oh my God! Oh my goodness. I'm speechless, my heart is pounding. I've got a dry mouth!

"I'm totally over the moon."

The mum-of-four knew exactly how she planned to spend her winnings as her family have been trying to save up for a house. She said, "We're hoping to buy a house so it will definitely be a help towards the deposit. It'll be a great help."

Hayley added that some family treats could be on the horizon as well and joked that her kids would have a few ideas of their own. She said, "I think the older ones will be hoping for a car! A nice family holiday would be good. We'd love to go to Dubai, guaranteed lovely weather!"

Hayley, who works as a receptionist for a local doctor's surgery, also hoped to use some of the money for a trip with some of her closest friends. She said, "Maybe a girls' trip! Clothes shopping, something like that. New York would be good! Shopping in New York or maybe Vegas!"

Her first plans were to celebrate and share the good news with her family, though. When asked what she'd do first, Hayley joked, "Alcohol! A champagne lunch. I'll phone my husband to give him the good news. He probably won't believe it! I'll be making lots of phone calls. I don't think I'll stop smiling!"

With six of her neighbours also scooping a prize, Hayley said that she was thrilled for the community. She added, "It's brilliant, I can't wait to celebrate with them! We are all quite close, we know our neighbours and it's good to look out for each other. This will hopefully bring us all together."

Absolutely Fantastic

Another neighbour who scooped a prize was Ian, who learned how much he'd won alongside his wife Pam. As Matt revealed their £30,000 cheque, Pam said, "Look at that! That's amazing." Ian added, "That's a lot of zeroes, it's a lot of money!"

The couple have four children and plan to surprise them all with a share of their windfall. Ian said, "I'll give them £1,000 each, that'll do! I'll take them out for dinner as well." Pam added, "We just want to help the kids out and make sure they're alright. It'll be nice for them to treat themselves."

Ian, who currently works as long-distance lorry driver, thought he'd use some of his prize money to start his own transport business. He added, "I've already bought a lorry. I've been thinking about it for a while. I'll sort it all out now and get it running, it'll be absolutely bloody fantastic!"

When asked if they were planning to treat themselves, the couple weren't sure but would let the news sink in and think about it. Ian said, "We're not materialistic, we've got a car and a bit of money and I've got a lovely wife! You couldn't ask for anything else really!"

Ian was thrilled to hear that players had raised so much for good causes. He said, "It's a win-win situation isn't it? Everybody is happy. It's just amazing."

Matt Johnson was in Norwich to meet some of our winners. He said, "It was my pleasure to bring this great news to Hayley, Ian, Pam and our other Norwich winners, I'm sure this has made their day! I hope they have fun treating themselves and their loved ones with the winnings."
