Surprise For Stanford-le-Hope

A postcode in Stanford-le-Hope has today landed one lucky person a fantastic cheque for £30,000. The mum-of-two bagged the prize when SS17 0JP was announced as a winner of Sunday's Street Prize.

Jenny, a financial controller, found out about her win during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson. Jenny said, "Oh my goodness, no way. I can't believe it. I only moved to this postcode in September last year, so it's been a very lucky house so far.

"I'll be doing some home improvements and treat all the family for sure, spread some of the love. My son is 19 and my daughter is 21 next month, so it's a special birthday. I'll put some aside and go on holiday next year to Florida to see my mum's sister, so my aunt and uncle. Maybe I'll take the whole family over!"

Seeing her cheque on screen, Jenny said, "I keep looking at it - I can't believe it!"

Luck must run in the family as Jenny isn't the first person to win something with People's Postcode Lottery - her mum Irene won £1,000 a few months ago. Jenny said, "My mum got the golden envelope and thought it was just junk mail until she opened it."

Danyl Johnson said, "It's always an absolute pleasure to surprise winners with cheques and I think we've given Jenny a day to remember. I couldn't be more pleased for her and hope she has a lovely time celebrating with her family before getting to work on those home improvements."
