Go Go Glasgow!
Four neighbours in Glasgow are celebrating a big win this weekend. The Sandholm Terrace residents picked up £150,000 between them after their postcode, G14 0HE, was drawn as a winner of today's Street Prize.
Gibson and his partner Helen were over the moon after discovering they had scooped a £30,000 cheque. To celebrate, they joked that they might treat themselves to a visit to the chippy instead of cooking at home!
Gibson said, "Ya dancer! I'm dumbstruck, I don't even know what to say. We'll go out for something to eat tonight to celebrate. We can get a bag of chips - one each actually, we won't even need to share!
"The kids and grandkids will be as happy as Larry. Our son stays in New Jersey so this will help us visit him next year."
Helen added, "We're off to Blackpool next month, but we can swap Blackpool for The Bahamas now!"
Kimberley was another £30,000 winner, and she signed up after her friend won a few years ago. Speechless at first, her mind quickly went to what she can spend her winnings on. She said, "Holidays, holidays, holidays! I can go to Mexico! I really wasn't expecting such a big amount so I can't think past that right now. We have Prosecco in the fridge so we will pop that open soon."
Charities Win Too
Kimberley likes seeing how playing benefits charities. She said, "I check every month to see which charities have received money. It's a great feeling to know that I can win and they do too."
Two other neighbours also won, with one bagging £30,000 and the other landing a prize of £60,000 thanks to playing with two tickets. As they weren't available to receive their cheques in person, their money will be paid directly into their bank accounts.
Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson was in Glasgow to meet our winners. He said, "It was lovely to meet Gibson and Kimberley today - they were both delighted with their win and it sounds like there will be celebrations tonight - whether it be with a chippy or a glass of bubbly! I'm sure they will enjoy spending the money and treating their friends and family."
Thousands Of Projects Across The World
With 32% of the ticket price going to charities and good causes, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised over £462 Million for thousands of projects and groups across the world.
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by Plan International UK, which has received over £5.7 Million thanks to players. This money is helping the charity advance children's rights and equality for girls all over the world.
Local charities are also supported by players. Last year LinkAble was awarded £7,451 to run cooking classes for adults with learning disabilities, improving both their health and confidence.
With fantastic Prizes announced every single day, you don't want to miss out on all the fun. It couldn't be easier to sign up - it only takes two minutes, and it might be the best decision you ever made! If you're not playing yet, sign up today for your chance to win. If you're not sure how to play, you can learn more about us in our How It Works guide.
