Happy Christmas High Green
Merry Christmas from everyone at People's Postcode Lottery! It's a very Merry Christmas indeed for eight High Green neighbours, as they've shared £240,000 today, all thanks to their postcode. The winners on Dowland Avenue each won a thrilling £30,000 after S35 4DE was named as a winning postcode. These prizes are part of our special #30KADAY Christmas celebration where one lucky postcode is a Street Prize winner every single day in December's draws and every ticket in that postcode wins £30,000.
A Fantastic Feeling
One of today's winners was Pat. Pat said, "I've only been playing for three months so to win £30,000 already is fantastic! You don't expect People's Postcode Lottery to knock on your door or win this type of money. I will share my winnings. I want to give some to St Luke's Hospice in Sheffield where my husband passed away. I will also treat myself to a holiday somewhere in Europe where it's a bit warmer. I'm still full of butterflies but it's a fantastic feeling and I'd ask anyone who isn’t playing to have a go now!"
See In 2020 In Style
Neighbour Nicola also scooped £30,000. Nicola said, "I started playing as I think it's important to give back to charity and help people that are worse off than you. I don't think this win has quite sunk in yet, and I don't think it will for a long time. It will help me out, and my little boy who I'll treat and put money away for his future. After a bad year, this is the start of something positive for me to see in 2020 in style.
"I'm moving to a new house soon, but I will definitely be playing in my new postcode. I also made a promise to my mum who lives in a neighbouring postcode that if either of us won, we would split the winnings. I think she's already chosen her new kitchen and bathroom! I'm just so happy and can't thank People's Postcode Lottery enough."
Support For Charities
Julia, another of today's eight amazing winners, added, "Good luck never happens to me. I am lost for words which is not like me! It's great knowing how much support goes towards charities and good causes too. It's also money that will help me out in a big, big way. I hope to buy a new car, save a little bit and do a bit of celebrating. I never thought I'd win in a million years so if you don't already, you need to play!"
People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Danyl Johnson dropped by Dowland Avenue to deliver the good news. Danyl said, "Handing out our Street Prizes is always an exciting time but even more so around Christmas! Meeting our winners and hearing what a difference it's going to make to their lives is truly humbling. I hope all our winners spend the money on something special and enjoy such an exciting start to 2020!"
