What A Win For Whitwick
A lucky postcode in Whitwick has left six players of People's Postcode Lottery jumping for joy after scooping £25,000 Saturday Street Prizes.
LE67 5DJ was drawn as the winning postcode, which meant players there all scooped £25,000, with one lucky resident doubling their windfall to £50,000 due to their two tickets.
Spiritualist Minister Reverend Phyllippe Aaron had an inkling he was in for a big win. Phyllippe said, "I'm a clairvoyant, and when I'd found out I'd won, something told me it would be £25,000. I was still left gobsmacked when I won – I burst into tears. This is most definitely going to make a massive difference to my life."
Winner Sharon Sutton was left shocked after finding out she was £25,000 richer. Sharon said, "I was absolutely dumbfounded when Judie revealed my cheque. I simply couldn't believe it because I've only been playing for six months, and now I've won £25,000. I decided to sign up to People's Postcode Lottery when I saw the charities that players support. I am a massive animal lover and players of People's Postcode Lottery raise money for some fantastic animal charities like Dogs Trust.
"Now I'm going to be able to give my son some money towards a deposit and maybe even pay off my mortgage. You can absolutely win by playing People's Postcode Lottery."
People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt, who presented the five-figured cheque to Sharon, added, "It was such a pleasure to travel to Leicestershire and meet all of our lucky winners! It's great to meet our players, who are making such a huge difference to so many good causes."
As a charity lottery, People's Postcode Lottery players have raised over £108 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. Supported charities near Whitwick include the Sorrel Youth Café, which received £4,267 to fund sessions that use craft building to help tackle anti-social behaviour.
