Special Delivery For Bordon

27 April 2019 - GU35 0EX - Bordon - £30,000

Five people in Bordon got a special delivery when our Street Prize team knocked on their door to present them with golden envelopes after their postcode, GU35 0EX, was announced as a winner.  Four of the Greenacres neighbours received cheques for £30,000, while the fifth scooped an incredible £90,000 thanks to playing with three tickets.

Lucky Number Three

Rob was the lucky winner who scooped a staggering £90,000. Rob and his wife Jo couldn't quite believe it when the cheque amount was revealed.

Rob plans to use the money to buy a new van to help him get around. He said, "I'm in a wheelchair and have wanted to buy an adapted van for a long time, however I've always put my family first, so it's never been a priority. We will finally be able to buy one now which will make a huge difference to us all.

"There's a nice golf club and restaurant close to us that we like to visit but it usually requires a lot of forward planning to get there. Once we get a van we will be able to visit whenever we want. I don't like to complain as I have a good life, but this will make things a lot easier."

Rob, who has run his own electronic business for the past 30 years, has two teenage daughters to treat with his winnings too. He said, "Charlotte and Laetitia will be able to treat themselves, but to be honest they're both quite sensible - they're actually great bargain hunters!"

When asked why he played with three tickets, Rob said, "Three's always been my lucky number and what a great way to prove it!"

Whale-Watching Cruise

Winner Ann, who works as an early years teacher in a local nursery, was with her partner Mick and cocker spaniel Elsie when she discovered how much she'd won. She said, "This has just been the most fantastic day. I signed up play when we moved into the area three years ago - I never thought my postcode would earn me £30,000!

"We're going to do some practical stuff around the house that we've never got around to, but we're also going treat ourselves to a whale-watching cruise. It's something we've always wanted to do but now we don't need to worry about saving to go on our trip of a lifetime!"

Unexpected Win

Street Prize winner Sandra couldn't believe her luck as she's only been playing for a few months. She said, "This is amazing - thank you so much! We never expected this in a million years so I've no idea what we'll spend it on. Knowing that so many charities are being supported is incredible, so winning is just a bonus!"

Birthday Bucks

Neighbour Hayley had two reasons to celebrate as she found out she'd scooped the big bucks on her birthday! Once she's finished celebrating the double whammy, Hayley and her partner Glen plan to use their windfall to redecorate.

New Set Of Wheels

Lucky player Sonia thought she was dreaming when she pulled her cheque out of its golden envelope. She plans to treat herself to a new set of wheels with her prize.

Delivering the big cheques and surprising the Bordon players was Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson. He said, "It was my pleasure to spread some happiness in Bordon today and put some big smiles on our winners faces! I'm sure they'll have an incredible time spending their prize money."

Good Causes Around Great Britain

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and good causes. Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £416 Million to date for deserving organisations across Great Britain and internationally.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Postcode Heroes Trust, which funds organisations including the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust and the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust

Lots of local charities have also benefited from player support including the South Downs National Park Trust, which was awarded £20,000 last year to carry out essential maintenance to improve the accessibility of trails within the park.
