"I didn’t know what to expect. This is brilliant, thank you."
Terry was chatting last Christmas with his father Mike, who’s played for a decade, and he recommended signing up.
The retired IT manager subscribed to the lottery at the end of November and was left shocked when he was presented with a whopping prize so soon.
Terry shared a £1 Million pot with eight other neighbours in Hemel Hempstead after HP1 3SE landed the weekly Millionaire Street prize. Every ticket was worth £76,923, but two players tripled their prizes to £230,769 with three tickets each.
Now Terry’s planning on helping out his family - as well as a bit of globetrotting for him and wife Jacqui.
A sunny escape

Terry was presented with his cheque at the same time as winning next door neighbour Alison Rose.
Now the legal PA, who was nursing a bad cold, is planning to head off to sunnier climes with her partner.
"I think we’ll have a holiday. Maybe a safari or Australia. My brother lives in Melbourne and it’s been five years since we last went over."
Family adventure

"Oh my God. I’m shaking, I can’t believe it, it’s surreal. This amount of money is beyond what I thought."
Just along the street, another family have major vacation plans after mum Sharon Chambers also landed £76,923.
Sharon and partner Ben Rigby have always dreamed of taking their two daughters on a trip across Japan - including stops at the country’s Disney and Super Nintendo World theme parks.
Sharing the win

At the opposite end of the street, Tony Wellman’s wife Angela shrieked with delight when his £76,923 was revealed.
Now the couple - who have been married for 10 years and share five children and three grandchildren - plan to help their family and go travelling.
"I’m a bit shaky and nervous, I wasn’t expecting that."
Giving back
Hugging their two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Lily and Poppy, Tony revealed he first signed up for the Postcode Lottery to support animal charities.
He said: "We have two dogs and one of the reasons I joined is because I knew the Postcode Lottery supports animal charities. We support animal charities ourselves."
Fellow winner Sharon also reinforces that as a reason for signing up. And they were delighted to learn that their wins - along with those of the seven other neighbours - means local charities will also get funding awards.
Incredibly, one organisation benefitting is right on their own doorstep.
Mediation Hertfordshire, based in the heart of the residential estate, has received £50,000 made possible thanks to Postcode Lottery players.
The not-for-profit organisation offers an independent and impartial lifeline to those experiencing conflict in the community, within a family, in a school or in a workplace.
Other charities receiving funding include:
DENS - £75,000
HECTOR’S HOUSE - £50,000
DACORUM MENCAP - £50,000
Deserving Causes
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Planet Trust which support charities including Cool Earth, Marine Conservation Society and WWF-UK. Thanks to our fantastic players, more than £1.7 Billion has been raised for thousands of deserving projects.
