A Happier Christmas
Families across Britain are dreaming of a happier Christmas, thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery.
Players have already raised more than £1.2 Billion for thousands of charities and local good causes.
Now it will be a more wonderful time of the year for those most in need, with three charities unwrapping the gift of an extra £5 Million in funding.
Cash for Kids' Mission Christmas appeal and The Trussell Trust, which supports foodbanks across Britain, are each receiving £2 Million, while vet charity PDSA will receive £1 Million.
It means 80,000 children will wake up to Christmas presents instead of missing out, while families in need can receive emergency food support and pet owners can access life-saving vet treatment they couldn't otherwise afford.
Overwhelming Generosity
Clara Govier, Managing Director of People's Postcode Lottery, said, "The generosity of our players is always overwhelming.
"At this time of year, the money they raise is needed even more. These three charities will use the additional £5 Million funding to ensure that struggling families throughout Britain can enjoy some Christmas cheer.
"Thank you to everyone who plays People's Postcode Lottery and for giving others a happier Christmas."
Sally Aitchison MBE, Managing Director, Cash for Kids, said, "This support, thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery, means we can reach an extra 80,000 children with gifts this year. We want to give a heartfelt thank you for making this possible."
Emma Revie, CEO, The Trussell Trust, said, "This incredible support is invaluable, especially as we are expecting this winter to be the toughest yet. We're extremely grateful to players of People's Postcode Lottery. Their generosity means food banks can continue to provide the lifeline of emergency support for people facing hardship, while we work to end the need for food banks, for good."
Rachel Bradburn, Vet Nurse Team Leader at Manchester PDSA Pet Wellbeing Centre, said, "We are thrilled and incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from Postcode Lottery players. The extra £1 Million in funding will make a real difference this Christmas - helping to keep thousands of people and pets together."
People's Postcode Lottery was created to raise long-term funding for charities and good causes. Players have raised more than £208 Million for charities in 2023 and a total of more than £1.2 Billion since its launch in 2005.
People's Postcode Lottery manages lotteries on behalf of 20 independent trusts.
The three charities awarded extra cash this Christmas will receive the funds from Postcode Innovation Trust (opens in a new tab).
