Helping Children Worldwide
Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £7 Million for Save the Children, helping the charity be there for the children who need it most in the UK and around the world.
Our players' support has helped Save the Children work with young people in the UK, reaching some of the 4 million children living in poverty. They want to make sure that all children have the very best start in life regardless of their circumstances. They support parents and teachers to build strong early years education for all children, at home and in schools. Support is also provided for their Building Blocks programme, which not only provides disadvantaged families with necessities like cookers and cots, but also fun learning tools, books and toys - making sure children have everything they need to thrive and learn.
Surviving, Learning, Staying Safe
Player support has also helped the charity be there for children in emergencies around the world, raising crucial funds for their Emergency Health Unit - ready to act in the first hours and days of an emergency. Save the Children know that the earlier they respond to a crisis, the more lives are saved. When Cyclone Idai hit Mozambique earlier this year, they were already on the scene, waiting to treat injury and illness before the storm had even arrived.
In the year ahead, funds raised will help Save the Children continue this work to ensure that all children have the chance to survive, learn and be safe. Player support will also help in the fight against malnutrition and help encourage collaboration across different charities.
