Street Prize

Windfall For Waterlooville

11 June - PO7 8QB - Waterlooville - £25,000

There is definitely cause to celebrate in Waterlooville this weekend. PO7 8QB has been drawn as a winning postcode in the £25,000 Saturday Street Prize.

Happy couple Carole and Bill Day couldn't believe their luck when newly announced People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Jeff Brazier turned up at their door to let them know they had won an incredible £50,000.

Carole said, "It was such a surprise and a very welcome one. Jeff started pulling the cheque out of the gold envelope - first we saw a two, then a five - followed by more and more zeros! I was on cloud nine – then he brought out another cheque for Bill! We were both completely dumbfounded with our luck. It hasn't quite sunk in yet that we've won a life-changing amount of money.

"You are raising money for charities as well which makes it all the better. We've only been playing since last year. I was already playing and then Bill signed up as well in November – now we've won £25,000 each.

"To think all you have to do is just play with your postcode – it is so easy. Everyone in our close could have won £25,000 each but they didn’t play."

Julie Royston-Ford also found herself £25,000 richer when Jeff visited Kassel Close.

Julie said, "I was in pure shock. I had no idea that I’d won £25,000. I've only been playing since November and I never win anything, so this was a real surprise.

"We are going to treat our children, and we've lived in our house for 25 years, so we'll probably put in some new windows and use our winnings practically."

People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Jeff Brazier said, "This was my first Saturday Street Prize and what a memorable one it will be! Carole and Bill are such a lovely couple and a lucky one too. I hope they have a lovely time celebrating their winnings. Julie was an absolute star and her reaction when I pulled out her £25,000 cheque will be unforgettable."

Over £124 Million has been raised to date by players of People's Postcode Lottery for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

The Staunton Stars have received £19,090 from players of People’s Postcode Lottery to make improvements in Staunton Country Park, a landscaped parkland enjoyed by community groups and schools.

There was also brilliant news for Bristol this weekend as another Saturday Street Prize landed in BS10 6LZ.
