One of the issues that the YMCA is able to offer support for is homelessness. In Milton Keynes, the organisation estimates that a third of all rough sleepers are under the age of 25. Thanks to the local YMCA, accommodation is provided in hostels and flats for over 500 young people every year.  

In addition to housing, the YMCA MK also offers mentoring and advice to help get people off the streets and learning basic life skills, alongside receiving employment or educational training. The Bus Shelter MK

This local charity in Milton Keynes was founded in early 2018, by a formerly homeless man who struggled to find a shelter in the town because he was over the age of 35.  

Donations helped him purchase and set up a 16-bed shelter in a former double decker tour bus as well as build shower, laundry and other welfare facilities nearby. The Bus Shelter MK also offers training programmes to the city's homeless, as well as a providing them with a postal address so they can apply for jobs and access medical care.
