Purrfect Pals
Cats play an important part in so many people's lives and are a hugely popular pet. In fact Cats Protection's CATS report 2021 showed that 26% of UK households have a cat.
Cats Protection cares for thousands of cats in need each year as well as helping to create life-long bonds between cats and their new owners. The charity also helps people to understand and take good care of their own cats.
Cats Protection is delighted to have received over £4.8 Million in funding since 2018 thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery.
During 2022, funding awarded by Postcode Animal Trust is going towards cat care costs at the charity's centres as well as supporting its Paws to Listen grief support service and its advocacy work to make a better world for cats.
Funding also helps Cats Protection's Behaviour Team to deliver cat behaviour advice to its network and cat adopters, as well as aiding its Insights Team in driving improvement, enabling the charity to have greater impact for cats and people.
Paws For Thought
Cats Protection's Interim Chief Executive, Dominic Sullivan, said, "We hope that by increasing awareness of cats' needs, fewer will need to come into our care in future. In the meantime, we continue to help as many cats as we can and find them loving new homes.
"We also understand how strong the bond between cats and people can be, so our Paws to Listen service offers a supportive and non-judgemental ear to anyone going through the loss or end of life of their beloved cat, or whose cat may be missing."
"I'd like to say a huge thank you to players of People's Postcode Lottery, whose support of our work goes a long way in helping cats and the people who love them."
