Players of People's Postcode Lottery will now be supporting charitable organisations operating overseas. An initial £1.2 Million funding has been given to seven international charities in 2014 - War Child, British Red Cross, WaterAid, The Clinton Foundation, Medecins Sans Frontieres, Opportunity International and the development organisation Ndlovu Care Group.

Clara Govier, Head of Charities at People's Postcode Lottery, said, "It is a fantastic achievement that players of People's Postcode Lottery have already raised over £36.9 Million for charities and good causes operating across Great Britain. This support has enabled hundreds of organisations to achieve more than they had ever thought possible, and we look forward to continually increasing this support here at home.

As players increase we are incredibly excited that we can reinforce our commitment to good causes. Players are now contributing more per ticket for charity and for the first time we are now able to extend our players' support to worthy causes achieving incredible results outside of Britain."

British Red Cross will receive £100,000 from our players this year. Mark Astarita, Director of Fundraising at British Red Cross, said, "We are hugely grateful for the fantastic support received from the players of People's Postcode Lottery toward our vital HIV programme in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The £100,000 of support provided will ensure that Red Cross volunteers are able to continue working within their communities to raise awareness about the treatment and prevention of HIV. This will save lives. Thank you.

£100,000 has also been allocated as an emergency fund to support international disasters through the Disasters Emergency Committee.
