Recently, some of our People’s Postcode Lottery team members had the opportunity to take a trip to South East England to visit some of our supported charities to see the great work that they do.

The team were up bright and early to head to London to make their first charity visit of the day at the Royal Parks Foundation. There, they were shown some of the educational activities the charity offers, such as pond dipping and seed planting.

Day two of the trip saw the team visiting Grandparents Plus, where they were introduced to Janice, who takes care of her grandchildren and receives support from the charity. Samantha McGinlay, Assistant Accountant at People's Postcode Lottery, said, "The experience was priceless, filled with emotional highs and lows. I take huge pride in knowing our players are helping so many people who depend on charities like this."

In the afternoon they dropped by WWF's 'Living Planet Centre', where the East Africa Team shared information about their recent projects. The team also learnt about where chocolate comes from and how it's made, and even got to make their own!

Before heading home on the final day, the team spent the morning at Ambler Primary School in Islington with Magic Breakfast. Here, they had breakfast with the children and teachers, before taking part in some school activities including dancing!

When talking about the trip, Customer Experience Team Leader Keith Harper said, "Not only did I enjoy visiting the charities, but it was also great getting to know my other colleagues from across the business!"
