£1 Million Prize
Melton Millionaire Street

A hobby baker convinced her husband and friend to play People's Postcode Lottery after winning £4,020 last year - and now they've ALL bagged a share of £1 Million.
Sarah White scooped £47,619 along with her grateful hubby Ian White and neighbour Melissa Mitchell, who both also won the same prize.
Sarah has won the lottery again after notching a cool £4,020 in August last year - and her latest cheque is more than TEN times that sum.
The delighted mum-of-two is already lining up a dream adventure cruise to the Norwegian Fjords.
Sarah of Melton, Woodbridge in Suffolk said: “The £4,000 I won last year was a wonderful surprise. But this is just incredible, we’re so lucky.
"I'm really, really glad that I encouraged both of them to join Postcode Lottery."
Melissa added: "I was absolutely gutted that I missed out last year, so I was like 'I'm getting in it'. But we’ve all won big this time!"
A total of 18 people in Woodbridge shared £1 Million in our weekly Millionaire Street prize when IP12 1JD was announced as the winner today.
One of the winners, playing with three tickets, tripled their prize to £142,857. And another person doubled their win to £95,238. Each ticket was worth £47,619.
It's the second time many of the Bury Hill residents have won Postcode Lottery after their area landed a £3.2 Million prize on 31 August 2024.
Winning couple Sarah and Ian are now planning a dream holiday to Norway.
Sarah said: "My husband and I have always wanted to take a cruise and we’ve never been able to afford it. It's looking like we'll be going to the Norwegian Fjords which will be incredible. A lifetime ambition really."
Ian was working when the lottery visited their street and had sent a barrage of texts to Sarah to find out how much they'd won.
She said: "He’s a security worker and has been texting me all day saying, 'any news?'
"I've just told him, and he’s absolutely thrilled. If it'd been just £1,000, he’d have been thrilled."
The couple will also give their son and daughter a 'buffer' to help them along the way.
Sarah said: "This sort of money will matter. My daughter had a baby last August, and she's still on maternity leave. So, it would be wonderful to give her maybe like £5,000 to make her life a bit easier.
"And I’d like to give my son a buffer too. It's lovely to be able to support them."
Mum-of-two Sarah, who bakes a cake every week for neighbours Melissa, her husband Pete and their son Jacob, spoke of her delight that Melissa had won too.
Sarah said: "Mel and Pete spend a huge amount of their time making sure that Jacob is alright, and they both work, and sometimes they've not got time to do all the basic stuff. Now I bake something every week for them."
Melissa, who lives two doors down, added: "She's not just my neighbour, she's such a lovely friend. She makes the most amazing cakes ever, plus she told me to play the lottery."
Melissa, who also cheered a £47,619 cheque, was watched on by her son Jacob, who suffers with uncontrolled epilepsy.
She said: "With Jacob's epilepsy, we can't really go abroad but we might buy a caravan. My husband wants a caravan, so maybe we'll get one and travel to lots of nice places in the UK that we’ve never been to before."
"The pillow chat tonight will be a little different, 'what should we buy?'"
Melissa joined the lottery on 1 September last year, the day after Sarah first won.
Melissa said: "I signed up when Sarah won the £4,000 last year, and my sister won it as well. I was gutted that I didn't win, and Sarah told me I needed to sign up and I did. But I never thought this area would win again."
Melissa also said she was thrilled that so many people had won on their street.
She said: "It's a great place to live, we're all really good friends up in our close. We have street parties and we just have some fun. Sarah makes the most amazing cakes every week and we buy a tray of eggs for her from the farm. It's just a lovely community.”
The biggest winner on the street was Bob Little who scooped £142,857 thanks to playing with three tickets.
The retired army aeronautical engineer hailed his win as 'euphoric' and says he'll be able to buy two new knees to kick-start his life.
Bob, who can only walk as little as 200 yards at one time, will now speed up a double knee replacement through private healthcare.
Bob said: "This money allows us to spread our wings a bit, and do things sooner rather than later. Now I'm going to get my knees done privately, because my quality of life is deteriorating."
He added: "I could then get myself an electric bike to build up my muscles again. Now it's a reality as opposed to a pipedream. I’m just over the moon. Now I can move my life forward."
The grandad-of-two won £12,060 last August - which paid for a central heating replacement - said he feels like he's 'floating'.
Bob said: "This doesn’t happen to people like us, we're just not lucky people. For our postcode to come in twice in nine months is just incredible."
"I was over the moon when I won £12,000 last year which just came out of the blue and now this. I'm sort of floating right now."
Bob already has his eyes on a brand-new car. He said: "I've been hankering on for ages about getting a new car. I'm going to get a Dacia Sandero Stepway, everything about it will be more convenient for me. I was 61 before I could afford my first new car... and that is life."
Bob celebrated the win with his wife of 40 years Caz Little and said they’ll complete a long list of house renovation jobs. And Bob said he’s already knows who he’ll call on to do the work – his two veteran pals.
He said: "My mate Mick, who's ex-royal commandos is a painter and decorator and he’s going to do a lot of the work. And my friend John, who is ex-para, is going to help with a lot of the building works. I get mate’s rates."
Caz added: "I’d like a new bathroom and maybe a nice three-piece sofa."
Another £47,619 winner was Deb Little who has recently become a grandmother to baby twins. She only started playing the lottery after the town won big last year.
Deb said: "I only started Postcode Lottery when I missed out on winning £4,000. I thought, I’ll give it a go, it might come back again and it has, so I'm really pleased."
And the win has come at the perfect time as her youngest daughter Hayley Mercer gave birth to twin boys just 13 weeks ago.
Deb said: "My daughter Hayley has just had twins, so I'll spend some on them and I’ve got another daughter in Manchester, so share about I say."
Hayley added: “I'm so happy for mum. It's once-in-a-lifetime money."
And Deb also spoke about her 'twinny' family. She said: "This is much more of a surprise than Hayley having twins because I'm a twin, my mum was a twin, my twin had twins and now Hayley's had twins. We're quite a twinny family really."
Deb also mentioned that she'd like to take the newborn twins on holiday, and she'll also celebrate with her singer songwriter daughter Emily Mercer.
Deb said: "I'd like to get them all out on holiday when they're a little bit older. It can be their choice. Emily is coming back down from Manchester this weekend and we’ll be able to celebrate together with some fizz."
Hayley added: "Champers on you mum!"
The neighbours’ win also means a range of local charities have benefitted from the Postcode Lottery’s Millionaire Street prize:
