Cool Win In Carluke
A construction worker from Carluke, who scooped £25,000 this weekend, is planning to spruce up his house with his winnings.
Gavin Connor found out he'd won the incredible five-figured sum when ambassador Judie McCourt knocked on his door to present him with the cheque.
His lucky postcode ML8 4EX was drawn as a winner in the Saturday Street Prize.
Gavin said, "It was lovely to meet Judie in person, and it feels so good to be a winner. I have played for a couple of years now, and I never thought I'd win this much.
"My wife Catherine and I have lived on the street for 25 years, and we'd like to get the outside of the house roughcasted."
He also said he wanted to spoil his daughter. "I've promised my teenage daughter Emma that I'll get her a pair of designer shoes for her prom night later this year."
People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt added, "It was lovely to see Gavin's reaction to winning the lottery. It really is an amazing prize, and it's such a pleasure to deliver the gold envelopes in person."
As a charity lottery, People's Postcode Lottery players have raised over £108 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. Supported charities near Carluke include Milton Rovers Youth FC, which received £6,800 to help unemployed youths gain nationally recognised sports coaching awards, and the 6th Motherwell Guide Unit, which was awarded £2,000 to purchase outdoor musical instruments for a sensory garden.
