Christmas Glee In Battersea

17 December - SW11 2SU - Battersea - £25,000

Four lucky neighbours from Battersea are set to have a fantastic Christmas this year after winning £25,000 each with People's Postcode Lottery.

The Fairchild Close residents scooped the five-figure sum when their postcode SW11 2SU was drawn as a Saturday Street Prize winner today.

Mum-of-one Joyce Bonsi was extremely shocked to be presented with her cheque from Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier. "I love my big fat cheque," she said. "It will be a good Christmas for all of my family."

Joyce, who was born in Ghana, has some plans for her win. "First I need to go to the dentist; I've been putting it off because the work I need is expensive," she said. "But then I would love to go back to Ghana with the family to visit my mum and then my daughter would love to go to Disneyland."

Joyce's neighbour Heinz Schilling was equally delighted with his win. "I'm over the moon," he said. "I can pay off my debt and have a clean slate for the New Year."

Heinz has got plans in mind for 2017 with his winnings. "I have to get a knee operation but as soon as it's over, I'd love to go somewhere hot," he said.

Robert Robinson-Hosking has only been playing People's Postcode Lottery for five months so was extra shocked with his win. "It was a great surprise," he said. "I might visit some relatives in America and Thailand."

The other winner was unavailable to receive their cheque, but their winnings will be paid directly into their bank account.

Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "I loved being in Battersea today, meeting our fantastic winners. Winning at any time is great but just before Christmas is extra special. I wish them all the best."

Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £161 Million to date for charities across Great Britain and internationally.

One charity extremely close to the winners is Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, which has been awarded £1.3 Million from players to date.

There was also a celebration in Rugby this weekend, as CV22 5JY was drawn as the second Saturday Street Prize winner.
