Feeling Great In Yate
Two People's Postcode Lottery players in Yate have been given some great news after landing Saturday's Street Prize.
The lucky postcode BS37 7PW was drawn, with both players winning £30,000.
Semi-retired car salesman Steven, from North Road, was lost for words when he found out how much he'd won.
Commenting on his fantastic prize, Steven said, "When I saw the cheque for £30,000 I was just so shocked. This was not something I was expecting at all.
"The past year has been terrible really after losing some of my closest relatives, so hopefully fortunes have changed for me this year.
"This win couldn't have come at a better time. I'm planning to do some work on the house to tidy it up a bit and there'll be a nice summer holiday to Spain too. The good thing is I can afford to stay in Spain a bit longer than I originally planned so I'll be looking forward to that."
Another winner was unavailable to receive their cheque from Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson, but their winnings will be paid directly into their bank account.
Congratulating the winners, Danyl said, "This is what playing People's Postcode Lottery is all about, neighbours winning together. Don't miss out if your postcode is drawn as a winner. Sign up to play now!"
£263 Million has been raised, to date, by players of People's Postcode Lottery for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local charity that has received support from players is Keynsham Wombles. The group was awarded £2,000 last year to fund an initiative to clear litter from town centres.
There was delight for another postcode this weekend, as one lucky winner scooped £30,000 in Sunday's Street Prize.
