Street Prize

Lolly For Leadgate

24 March 2018 - DH8 7QX - Leadgate - £30,000

One lucky Leadgate local has won £30,000 this weekend thanks to her postcode.

Elizabeth won after her postcode, DH8 7QX, was drawn as the winner of Saturday's Street Prize.

She said, "I'm really excited! That's a holiday for me and my partner Richard in Rome sorted – I can't wait. My daughter is looking to buying a house so I'll be able to help her out with her deposit now too. And I'm definitely going to get my teeth done!

"It was so easy to sign up and now I'm £30,000 richer – I just can't believe it."

Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt presented Elizabeth with her cheque and offered her congratulations. She said, "It has been an especially exciting prize presentation for me because Leadgate is where I grew up. I am absolutely delighted for Elizabeth and hope she enjoys spending her winnings."

With a minimum of 32% of the ticket price going to charity, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised £282 Million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

One of the nearby charities players have helped support is Abundant Earth. The group was awarded £4,900 last year to improve the renewable energy infrastructure on its site.
