Disbelief In Rudheath

24 September - CW9 7DY - Rudheath - £25,000

Five lucky players from Rudheath were delighted to find out that they had each won £25,000 with People's Postcode Lottery at the weekend.

The happy winners, from Farm Road, scooped the Saturday Street Prize after their postcode CW9 7DY was drawn as a winner.

Alison Astles said she was over the moon with her win. "I thought I'd maybe won £1,000 so when I realised it was actually £25,000 I was so happy. I'm still in shock! I really love to support animal charities so that was a huge part of why I chose to sign up with People's Postcode Lottery.

"I haven’t really decided what we’ll spend the win on, but I’m sure that a holiday will definitely be a part of it."

John Pickering, another lucky winner, was also stunned when his cheque was revealed. "I'm shocked, I'm excited, I'm a bit of everything. I've had some ideas about what I might spend the money on but I don't want to give too many secrets away just yet!

"We'll at least be having a family get together to celebrate the win."

Three of Alison and John's neighbours on the same street also received fantastic £25,000 prizes.

Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt said, "It was so lovely to meet such a fantastic group of winners today – a massive congratulations to all of them!"

Over £142 Million has been raised to date by players for over 2,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. A project that players have supported near Rudheath is Deafness Support Network which received over £10,000 this year for their Deafness and Dementia Café.

Players in Maidstone were also delighted to have scooped £25,000 each, as this weekend's second Saturday Street Prize landed in ME15 6FH.
