Street Prize

Cheers In Cleethorpes

30 September 2017 - DN35 0SJ - Cleethorpes - £30,000

Five lucky Cleethorpes residents got a very exciting visit this week when Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt arrived at their doors with cheques for £30,000. Their postcode, DN35 0SJ, was drawn as the winner of this week's Saturday Street Prize.

Winner John Tuck was joined by his wife Norma when he was presented with his cheque. He said, "This will really help with the kids' Christmas. We have 30 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and another two on the way!"

Ann Beacock said, "It's such a lovely surprise and everyone is so pleased for me. The money will go to my family. My daughter is going to Barcelona next month, and we'll go on a family holiday somewhere in January."

Dorothy Croft said the money couldn't have come at a better time, "I've had cancer and had to have a big operation recently so this has just been fantastic to pick me up a bit. I'm still waiting for the all clear, but once I'm a bit better I'd love to go away on holiday somewhere sunny. It's lovely to share the celebrations with my neighbours too."

Diane Hales said, "I'm absolutely shocked! I can't describe how I feel – I'm on cloud nine. When Judie pulled the cheque out my legs went to jelly. I think it's going to take a while to sink in so I'll need to have a think about what to spend the money on, but I'd love to go away on holiday."

There was one other winner who was not available to receive their cheque, but their winnings will be paid directly into their bank account.

Judie McCourt said, "It's been amazing to meet all of our lucky winners here in Cleethorpes and surprising them with their cheques. I hope they all enjoy spending their winnings and treat themselves to something special."

A minimum of 31% of the ticket price goes directly to charities. To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £229 Million for more than 3,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A cause local to the lucky winners which has received support from People's Postcode Lottery players is Care4All. The charity was awarded £18,603 to provide social care support and services for hundreds of vulnerable people in the area.

One Sidmouth player will also be celebrating this week, as postcode EX10 0LZ was drawn as the winner of Sunday's Street Prize, and over 400 lucky Didcot players shared a whopping £3 Million.
