A Cleaner, Greener Future

Keep Britain Tidy have three clear goals - to eliminate litter, end waste and improve public space. This means more than just picking up litter. It means creating clean beaches, parks and streets. The charity works with people, businesses, organisations and public bodies to care for the environment on our doorstep.  

Players of People's Postcode Lottery are providing invaluable support for Keep Britain Tidy. This is allowing them to:

• Expand their Eco-Schools environmental programme, which is taught in over 19,000 schools in England, reaching over 5.5 million children.
• Recruit more #LitterHeroes Ambassadors, who work with their local communities to arrange litter picks and champion sustainable practices. Keep Britain Tidy have 100 #LitterHeroes ambassadors enrolled onto this ground-breaking programme.
• Broaden the reach of the Great British Spring Clean, the country's biggest mass-participation environmental campaign, which in 2018 mobilised more than 370,000 volunteers to clean up in their local areas. They removed over 6,000 tonnes of litter and plastic from Britain's streets, parks, beaches and waterways.
• Develop, test, and roll-out more national behaviour change innovations through their award-winning Centre for Social Innovation, such as the cigarette litter awareness campaign #BinTheButt which launched in 2018.

Keep Britain Tidy have been fighting for people's right to live, work and play in places they can be proud of and prosper in for over 60 years.
