Since 2014, players of People's Postcode Lottery have enabled mac birmingham to welcome millions of visitors through its doors thanks to a total of £1.1 Million in funding. This funding has also helped support art and artists from around the world, given young people the confidence to play a role in society, and offered scores of free events for the people of Birmingham.

From 2nd to 8th July 2018, mac is offering free drop-in workshops for all ages, ranging from Creative Play for babies to introductions to pottery, rap, and textiles. Just turn up and try something new!

The charity will also have ticket giveaways to see comedian, writer, and TV presenter Griff Rhys Jones in a one-man show about his life. There will also be a pre-Edinburgh Fringe performance from Mock the Week favourites Jo Caulfield and Hal Cruttenden.

Over the weekend of 7th and 8th July, the arts complex will culminate its 'Beyond Windrush' season of events celebrating the impact and influence of the Windrush generation. To complement free exhibitions of photography in its galleries, on Saturday mac birmingham be hosting a Caribbean-style barbeque on its terrace, with hip hop and rap performances and a party atmosphere.

The week's celebrations will end on Sunday with the sound of steel drums throughout the building.
