Scottish National Portrait Gallery invites families to a sports-tastic Portrait Gallery Games

Throughout August, children aged 4+ and their families can come down to the Portrait Gallery on Queen Street, Edinburgh, every day for fun-filled afternoons of FREE sports-inspired art events. This includes the chance to win a gold medal and stand proud on the Portrait Gallery Winner's Podium.
The sports-inspired art events funded by players of People's Postcode Lottery include
- puppet-making and
Each event completed (either done all on one day or through repeat visits during August) is recorded and contributes towards a medal.
Participants will also be able to pledge allegiance to a charismatic team captain from a line-up of popular characters from the gallery's art collection – Mary Queen of Scots, Robert Burns, Flora MacDonald and Bonnie Prince Charlie. An online medal league table keeps track of how each team is faring.
National Galleries of Scotland has received £239,513 from the players of People's Postcode Lottery to date. This funding is being used to provide various educational programmes, widening the gallery audience across the country.
