Players of People's Postcode Lottery support the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE), an amazing organisation that works hard to protect and conserve plantlife for people of all ages to enjoy. £250,000 from our players has helped RBGE to run fantastic events and exhibitions which get more people interested in plants and nature.

Tickets go on sale today for Night in the Garden, a magical outdoor event that features a combination of light and nature. Visitors are invited to enjoy the Botanics after dark from Thursday 30th October until Sunday 23rd November.

Heather Jackson, RBGE's Director of Enterprise, said, "Since we announced that we would be opening in the evening with a special light event, the response has been fantastic both from our regular visitors and social media followers. We're looking forward to welcoming our evening visitors in October and November for what promises to be an unforgettable experience."

Pete Irvine, whose company Unique Events is managing the event, added, "Given the unique nature of this impressive event and the Botanics' loyal following, we are confident that this will be a popular event. As the nights start to draw in, we can't think of a better way to brighten up a dark winter evening."

Night in the Garden has been created in association with Scottish light artist Malcolm Innes and his colleague Euan Winton who have designed the 'Botanic Lights' installations. Night-time visitors will be able to make their way through a one kilometre route full of light and shadow and see the Botanics as they have never seen it before. The outdoor trail will begin from the Garden's North Gate and conclude at the Terrace Café, which will be serving refreshments including mulled wine, wine, beers, soft drinks and snacks.
