A Stroke Of Luck For Stoke-On-Trent

09 April - ST3 5HR - Stoke-on-Trent - £25,000

Winning £25,000 each with their lucky postcode was a real coup for two neighbours from Coupe Drive in Stoke-on-Trent! Their postcode, ST3 5HR was drawn as a winner in this weekend's Saturday Street Prize.

Nicholas Millard says the win couldn't have come at a better time."I'll be celebrating my 60th birthday in the next couple of weeks, so my family will be able to have an extra special party now."

"I didn't expect to win £25,000 - it's fantastic," he said. "At my age, retirement isn't too far away, so this will top up my pension pot.

"My wife Pamela had no idea that I played People's Postcode Lottery, so it was a nice surprise for her. I signed up two years ago, and I've won £10 twice before, but it's definitely third time lucky with this big win!"

Mary Goodwin also received a cheque for £25,000 from People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt.

She said, "I've lived on Coupe Drive for 38 years, and I've played People's Postcode Lottery for about a year. Winning £25,000 was unimaginable. I couldn't believe it when I saw the three noughts on the cheque.

"I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all the money. I've got a son and daughter and two grandchildren who I'll be able to help out. My husband needs a new phone, and I've also got two sausage dogs, Jasper and Max, who might get treated to a new blanket."

Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £113 Million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. A player supported charity near ST3 5HR is UpRising in Stoke-on-Trent, which received £19,200 in 2015. UpRising helps talented young people from diverse backgrounds to fulfil their leadership potential.

Players in Chesterfield were also big winners this weekend.
