Street Prize
Readies For Redhill
Two Redhill residents are quids in after landing £30,000 each in People's Postcode Lottery's Sunday Street Prize.
Beryl Payne from Mansfield Road was one of the lucky winners, thanks to playing with postcode NG5 8NA.
Beryl was shocked by her win. She said, "I can't believe it! I'm going to try and be sensible with the money – I'm going to Barbados next year so it'll cover my spending money for that, and I'm going to give my daughter and nieces and nephews a bit each. Then I'll put the rest in the bank for when I need it. But there's also the temptation to buy a luxurious handbag!"
Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson said, "Congratulations to today's winners! It's been fantastic to hand out some big cheques here in Redhill, and hopefully I'll be back again soon."
A minimum of 31% of the ticket price goes to charity. To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £237 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A cause local to the lucky winners which has received support from players is Positive Pathways. The charity was awarded £2,000 last year to run recreational activities for disadvantaged young people in the area.
There were also celebrations in Coventry after two neighbours in CV3 5LB scooped Saturday's Street Prize.
