Over 300 winners in Bolton upon Dearne are a lot richer this weekend after winning a share of £3 Million at People's Postcode Lottery's June Postcode Millions event.
308 players were presented with cheques at a winners celebration held at Grade I listed country house Wentworth Woodhouse.
Seven of the lucky winners discovered that they played with the full winning postcode, S63 8EZ, and walked away with the lion's share of the prize. The event saw residents in the winning postcode sector S63 8 walk away with prizes ranging from £4,451 to £450,000.
Peter Clegg couldn't believe it when his postcode was revealed and he found out he had won £450,000, as he plays with three tickets.
Peter was joined by his wife Diane at the event, who was equally shocked to discover they had won such a massive amount. "This is going to make such a difference," he said. "Six years ago, when Diane was 31 weeks pregnant, she found out that she had heart failure. Thankfully, after an emergency C-section, our daughter Daisy was born safely, but Diane had to give up work and I eventually left too, to become her carer and to look after the kids. Winning this money is life-changing for us."
Peter and his family began video blogging earlier this year to try and earn some extra money. "We've made about £3 so far," he joked. "It's a bit of fun and we meet some really interesting people. I'm not sure Diane will let me spend any of my winnings on the channel though. I really want to spoil her as well as treating my kids by taking them all on a dream trip to Florida."
Simon Link was blown away when he discovered he had won £300,000, thanks to playing with two tickets. Simon was joined by his ex-wife Tanya who was also a winner, scooping £8,902. "We're going to split the money," he said.
Engaged couple Iain Duthie and Jane Steel won £150,000 each. Jane said, "We got engaged in February but didn't have any money together for the wedding so this is going to more than cover it! We're already excited to go to Barbados for our honeymoon."
Iain added, "We've always dreamed of buying a holiday home in Whitby or a motor home to tour about the UK. We might even do both now."
Hilary Ross was joined by her husband Peter at the event. She said, "It's been an absolutely amazing day - I can't believe we've won this much. Our son is starting university in September so this will help us to pay for that, and we're going to do a Europe trip this summer after his exams.
Two other lucky winners also won £150,000 each.
People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Judie McCourt was excited to be handing out cheques. "Today has been amazing. The grounds here at Wentworth Woodhouse are stunning and everyone has had a fantastic day – especially our winners! Seven players won over £100,000, so I'm sure they will have a lot of celebrating to do."
It's not just players who win with People's Postcode Lottery, over £205 Million has been awarded to charities and good causes. The winners' celebration saw a number of supported charities in attendance including CLIC Sargent, Girlguiding, Woodland Trust, and Riding for the Disabled Association.
Players in Bolton upon Dearne weren't the only ones celebrating this weekend, Saturday's Street Prize landed in Birmingham, and players in Wolverhampton scooped £30,000 cheques on Sunday.
