In Hornchurch this weekend, a winner who scooped £50,000 wants to splash out on a new bass guitar designed by his hero Mark King from Level 42.
Darren Griffiths from Brierley Close won big in one of of this weekend's Saturday Street Prizes with postcode RM11 2BD. Each winning ticket is worth £25,000 in the Street Prize, but Darren doubled his cash by playing with two tickets.
Darren said, "Mark King has been a hero of mine since I was a teenager, and I taught myself to play bass guitar at home. When I realised how much money I'd won, one of the first things that I thought about was buying a new bass guitar.
"I'll also take my wife Hayley and two little girls away on holiday later this year. It would be great for my dad to come too because he hasn't been keeping well.
"It's a surreal feeling to win this amount of money, and I really want to do something positive with it and make my family comfortable."
Darren's neighbour Sharon Blake also received a cheque for £25,000 from People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Danyl Johnson.
Sharon, who is a support worker for people with learning difficulties, said, "When Danyl knocked on my door, I started to shake. I was thinking how nice it would be to win £1,000 and I would have been grateful for that, but when I took out the cheque and saw the numbers I was in shock.
"I need to get a new roof and start looking for a new car. A nice little holiday to Mexico or Hawaii or both would be great!"
A third winner on Brierley Close also scooped £25,000.
Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £118 Million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
