Street Prize
Well Heeled In Sutton Coldfield
One Sutton Coldfield winner is delighted to have won £30,000 today thanks to People's Postcode Lottery.
The Cremorne Road resident, who plays with postcode B75 5AW, was the winner of the first of this weekend's two Street Prizes.
Peter Lightfoot was surprised to receive his cheque. "It's going to make my life much more comfortable. I'm going to buy a small car for my wife Frances, and other than that I'm not going to splurge – you never know what costs are going to come up so having this money means we won't need to worry."
Peter originally signed up to the lottery as a way to support charities, so the win was an added bonus. "I found it was a better way to support a variety of charities than just giving a pound here and there."
Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "It was a pleasure to meet Peter today and present him with his winning cheque. Sign up to play today and I could be knocking on your door soon."
To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £175 Million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A project near the winning postcode that has received support from players is Newhall Allotments Association, which was awarded £1,906 last year for a community and wildlife project.
Peter wasn't the only player celebrating a win this weekend, as two Altrincham winners scooped £30,000 each in the Street Prize on Saturday and players in East Devon shared the February Postcode Millions prize pot of £3 Million!
