Bounty For Broad Oak
It was an exciting start to the weekend for one lucky Broad Oak resident after winning £30,000 thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery. Vicky, a care worker for the elderly, landed the prize when her postcode, TN21 8TN, was announced as a winner of today's Street Prize. She found out how much she'd won over a video call with Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson.
As Matt revealed her big cheque, Vicky became quite emotional. She exclaimed, "Oh my God! Are you serious? Thank you so much, that's amazing!"
When restrictions allow, Vicky plans on treating her two children to a trip to Disneyland. She said, "I'm just like a big kid, I loved my childhood, so I love giving the kids a bit of my childhood as well!"
Vicky also described her plans for some renovations for the home she shares with her husband. She added, "We wanted to get a hot tub. I was going to have to work extra nights and days to save up for it and now I can actually get it, I'm so excited!"
One of the reasons Vicky plays People's Postcode Lottery is because of the support going to good causes. She said, "I always like to give a bit to charity, and I can't always do all of them, so I thought this is the perfect one to do because it covers quite a few. And obviously there is always a chance of winning so that is an extra bonus on top!"
When Vicky was asked how she would celebrate her win, she said, "We will plan things and then once we are allowed, we will go out for a really nice meal."
After his video call Matt Johnson said, "I'm over the moon for Vicky! A big congratulations, I hope she celebrates today and enjoys spending the cash."
