It's an amazing day for three neighbours in Louth as they've each landed a thrilling cheque for £30,000 each! The windfall arrived after their postcode, LN11 0YU, was announced as the winner of today's #30KADAY Street Prize.
One of our happy winners was Amanda, who learned of her windfall on a video call with Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson. As her cheque was revealed she exclaimed, "Oh my God! Amazing. Absolutely amazing. It's come as a massive shock to me because I've literally just moved into this address!"
Amanda and her family moved to the winning street while they wait for their new home. She said, "We've moved into a mid-term house while we're waiting for our new one to be built. My neighbour's parents were renting it out and they offered it to us while we were waiting on our new house. I'll have to buy them a present now!"
When asked how she might spend her winnings, the mum-of-two had a special family treat in mind. She exclaimed, "A holiday for the kids! We are going to do a Disney Cruise. It's a staycation - three days travelling around the coast of the UK. The kids are going to love it. I'm not going to tell them until we get to the ferry. I can't wait to see their faces!"
Amanda chatted with Matt while on a break at work but planned to enjoy her good fortune when she finished. She said, "I'll probably celebrate with a glass of wine with my husband."
She was thrilled to hear about the good work of the Charities supported by player funding. Amanda added, "It feels absolutely amazing. I love the fact that I can help towards supporting those charities."
After the call, Matt Johnson sent his congratulations to all our winners. He said, "It was my pleasure to bring this amazing surprise to our winners in Louth, I'm sure they'll be celebrating tonight! It was lovely to hear about Amanda's plans and I hope she gets to take that family holiday soon."
