Henllan Amgoed is home to two very happy couples this Valentine's Day. The lucky winners, who play with postcode SA34 0SH, each received a £30,000 cheque after winning today's Street Prize. In February's draws, our #30KADAY Street Prizes mean lucky winners will collect £30,000 cheques every single day.
Win-Win For Everyone
Ceri, a self-employed editor, and her partner Mike, were one of our delighted couples. The pair are going to treat themselves to a Valentine's Day meal, but despite winning £30,000 they don't want to break the bank just yet. Ceri said, "We'll have a curry and a bottle of wine! We don't need to do anything special. We prefer just staying in anyway. If we have a bottle that's all we need."
"It's still sinking in. I feel a bit stunned. It's overwhelming but in a nice way!"
When asked how they plan to spend the win Ceri said, "We've wanted to do up the house for ages, as we haven't been able to do anything in ten years. It's nothing exciting but we've got our wine to look forward to. It's even better now it's paid for!"
Players of People's Postcode Lottery have helped raise more than £500 Million for good causes, including those across Wales. Ceri said, "I'd be lying if I said I didn't sign up to win, but knowing that if I don't charities still do is a big reason I play. It's a win-win for everyone."
Our other lucky couple, Barry and his wife Sandra, are planning a dream cruise with their £30,000 windfall. Barry said, "It came about so quickly so we need to think about what to do! We've got family in Portsmouth so a little will go to them, but we're planning a cruise to Japan and Canada."
Street Prize Presenter and fellow Welshman Matt Johnson was in Henllan Amgoed to deliver our golden envelopes. He said, "It's always nice to be back in Wales, especially to hand out big cheques! A big congratulations to all of our winners today. I hope they treat themselves and celebrate this weekend!"
With People's Postcode Lottery, 32% of the ticket price goes to amazing charities and good causes around the world. Our players have raised over £500 Million so far!
Today's Street Prize is part of a draw promoted by Postcode Local Trust that provides funding for projects in Great Britain that focus on improving biodiversity and green spaces, increasing community access to outdoor spaces, combatting climate change, and promoting sustainability.
