It's a super Saturday for two neighbours from Keynsham who have scooped a whopping £30,000 each.
The Warwick Road residents won the prize when their postcode, BS31 2QW, was drawn as the winner of Saturday's Street Prize.
One of the winners, Tina, was with husband Dave when the People's Postcode Lottery team knocked on her door. After finding out how much she had won, she said, "Wow - £30,000 is amazing, I'll be able to do so much with this! We've been meaning to carry out home improvements so now we can get cracking with that without having to dip into any savings. I'll be spoiling the kids and grandkids as well as treating myself to a new car – it's great that the whole family will benefit from it."
Another winner was Jillian. She was overcome with emotion when she found out how big the cheque inside the golden envelope was. She said, "I'm so overwhelmed, it's just absolutely wonderful. I'm definitely going to book a nice holiday and take the family with me – it's so lovely to be in a position to be able to do that now. I never thought it would happen to me but one thing is for sure, if you don't play then you won't win!"
Congratulating the winners, Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "I've had the best time visiting Keynsham, meeting Jillian and Tina and presenting them with their lovely big cheques - I couldn't be more thrilled for them both. I hope they enjoy spending the cash!"
32% of the ticket price goes to charities. Our players have now raised over £320 Million for more than 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. This Saturday's Street Prize was part of a draw promoted by charity CLIC Sargent.
One charity close to our winners that players have helped to support is Action for Conservation. The group was awarded £20,000 last year to deliver conservation education workshops to secondary school children.
There were winners elsewhere this weekend. Another lucky postcode also celebrated winning £30,000 in Sunday's Street Prize. Excited winners also shared an incredible £3 Million in our July Postcode Millions prize.
