Revelry In Rutherglen

A magnificent seven neighbours in Rutherglen are celebrating today thanks to the luck of their postcode. Each of our winners won a £30,000 prize after their postcode, G73 2BD, was drawn in our Sunday Street Prize. Two doubled their prizes to £60,000 because they were playing with two tickets.

The cheques were revealed during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson.

A Total Revamp

One of our winners, Liz, a social worker, was with her husband John when she found out how much she'd won.  Both cheered when Danyl revealed their cheque. She exclaimed, "£30,000! Fantastic!"

When asked what she would do with her winnings, Liz said, "Eventually move to Spain." She also had some ideas for a treat. She added, "Probably a new bathroom at home. Get it totally revamped, and get the house decorated. That would be good. There's a couple of charities that we're thinking of sharing a wee bit with as well."

Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 Million for good causes and Liz was delighted to see Charities getting so much support. She said, "I actually work in childcare, so knowing it's going back to the charities is good - £600 Million is really keeping these places going. I think it's great that sort of money is going to the charities." 

After his video call Danyl Johnson said, "Congratulations to Liz and all our other winners in Rutherglen! It sounds like a really friendly community and I'm so happy we could bring them this amazing news."
