Huge Haul For Huntly

02 July - AB54 8BE - Huntly - £25,000

Five players of People's Postcode Lottery from Huntly in Aberdeenshire are each £25,000 richer after AB54 8BE was drawn as a winning postcode in one of the Saturday Street Prizes today.

Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson found his way to Green Road to deliver £125,000 in prizes.

One lucky player, Susan Borzoni, only signed up to play People's Postcode Lottery in February and now has an amazing £25,000 win. Susan said, "When Matt started pulling out the cheque, I saw the zeros and the five but then the two – I got the shock of my life. It was such a surprise but a very pleasant one as you can imagine. I think the most I've ever won in my life is £100 – so this is huge for me.

"I believe what People's Postcode Lottery does is amazing – I love the charities that players like me support. It was really nice that there were five winners in the street and we all won the same amount!"

Jean Mchardy has been playing for eight years and now her postcode has landed her £25,000. Jean said, "I'm looking to go on a holiday so we're planning a long haul to Australia now. My partner doesn't like flying, so we're looking at first class. We've got the money and so it's the way to go.

"If people haven't signed up to People's Postcode Lottery I would tell people to play. I never thought I'd win and I've been playing for eight years - and I'll keep playing now I've won."

Players Beatrice Fowlie, Yunnie MacKinnon, and Cathie Jolly were also each presented with a whopping cheque for £25,000.

Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson said, "All the players in Huntly were lovely – I hope Jean enjoys her first class trip to Australia – it'll be the trip of a lifetime. Players across Great Britain are making such a difference to charities and good causes – I can't wait to see where I'll be off to next."

As a charity lottery, players have raised over £129 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. A local charity close to Huntly supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery is Kennethmont Youth Group.

Kennethmont Youth Group set up drop-in sessions to provide local young people with a place to meet. They received £1,572 to purchase equipment for the centre including pool tables, an air league basketball stand, an air hockey table, and a fold-away football table.

Also this weekend, a player in Havant scooped a Saturday Street Prize win, one lucky Swansea player won £10,000 and a BMW, our incredible Dream Holiday prize was won in Middleton and the June Postcode Millions landed in Torquay.
