Cash For Camden
02 September 2017 - NW1 9BS - Camden - £30,000
Two players in Camden will be celebrating this week as their postcode, NW1 9BS, has landed them £30,000 each in Saturday's Street Prize.
Alexander Housego and Pierluca Campana were both delighted to collect £30,000 cheques from Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier.
"I've only been playing six months – it was a very pleasant surprise to say the least," said financial consultant Alexander. "I decided to sign up when I saw the adverts and thought I might have a chance to win. I never expected to win anything so soon though.
"As I'm self-employed, I'm going to be sensible and put some of my winnings away as a financial cushion. I'm sure I will book a couple of trips with the family and treat my wife for her birthday in November too."
Alexander was also very pleased to win with his neighbour. "Pierluca and I have lived on this street for 15 years and never met! It was really nice to get to know him."
Pierluca was equally happy with his win. "This is going to take a bit of getting used to," he said. "I think the money will go towards a new home and I want to book a trip to see the Northern Lights in either Iceland or Norway."
Jeff Brazier said, "The two gentlemen today were thrilled receive their cheques. It's been a fantastic day here in Camden and I hope Alexander and Pierluca enjoy spending their winnings."
A minimum of 31% of the ticket price goes to charities. To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £221 Million for more than 3,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local charity in the area that has received support from players is The Pirate Castle for its Access Watersports project. The charity was awarded £10,000 to offer free canoeing and kayaking sessions for disabled participants.
One lucky player in Chilmark has also scooped £30,000, as their postcode, SP3 5BW, was drawn as the winner of Sunday's Street Prize, and hundreds of happy St. Helens players shared a whopping £3 Million.
