Six neighbours in Ellesmere had cause for celebration on Sunday after learning they had won an incredible £30,000 each thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery.
The winners picked up the cash when their postcode, SY12 0FE, was drawn in Sunday's Street Prize.
Mark was one of the lucky people picking up the prize. He said, "I'm very pleased indeed. This couldn't have come at a better time as I could really be doing with changing my current vehicle, so that's at the top of my wish list. The house will also be getting a makeover thanks to the win. The living room is long overdue a new three-piece suite so that's on the cards too."
Mark was joined by his wife June as he received the cheque and she added, "I'd almost given up checking as I never thought we'd win but now we have it's come as quite the shock. I couldn't be more thrilled. We'll celebrate with a couple of days away somewhere nice with our twin sons, but don't ask me where we'll be going - we'll need to think about that once what's happened has started to sink in!"
People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Judie McCourt was in Ellesmere and offered her congratulations, "I've had a fabulous time meeting Mark and June and it sounds like they've already got lots of plans for spending the cash. I'm sure their neighbours will be equally as delighted and I hope they all enjoy treating themselves to something special."
With People's Postcode Lottery, 32% of the ticket price goes to charities. To date, our players have raised more than £350 Million for over 4,000 good causes. This Street Prize was part of a draw promoted by charity Cats Protection.
Beechtree Community Centre is one of many charities close to our winners that players have helped to support. In 2017, the group was awarded £5,000 to provide local residents with the opportunity to participate in sports including new-age kurling and badminton.

There were smiling faces elsewhere this weekend, as the winners of Saturday's Street Prize also picked up £30,000 for each ticket they play with.
