We've been turning up the heat this summer with sizzling £30,000 Street Prizes every single day. Our presenters have been run ragged, travelling back and forth across the country, delivering amazing prizes to surprised winners. Today, in the last of our #30KADAY extravaganzas, it's Tunbridge Wells's turn in the sun, with £30,000 prizes raising temperatures in postcode TN4 0JP.
What A Birthday Present!
Frank, a great-grandfather of nine, is one of three lucky neighbours to win a five-figure sum. Frank said, "I celebrated my 84th birthday recently and now I've got this wonderful surprise. What a birthday present, although I'll expect a cheque for every birthday now! We'll have a nice holiday and then treat our family, we'll make it stretch out among the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It's also lovely to win alongside our neighbours and friends."
Never Dreamt We'd Win
Neighbour Julia was joined by her husband, John, when she found out the good news. Julia said, "We're delighted that our neighbours have won too, especially this amount. We would never have dreamt that we'd win something like this. I can't quite believe it, we were expecting something around £1,000. We'll treat ourselves to an extra special holiday."
Over The Moon
Lucky golden envelope winner Patricia, who's been playing for five years, said, "I didn't expect to see a cheque for £30,000. I'm over the moon, things like this don't happen to me. I'm going to spend it on my family and maybe take a holiday to Majorca to visit my grandson."
Our winners were today visited by Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier. He said, "It's been a Street Prize packed with big cheques, and in Frank's case even bigger families! I'm sure his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be in for a real treat when they help him spend his prize winnings. It's fantastic to see not only how pleased they are to have won themselves but how excited they are for each other as neighbours and friends. Congratulations to our Tunbridge Wells winning trio!"
Deserving Projects Around The World
Players aren't the only ones who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery. 32% of the ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our players, over £462 Million has been raised for deserving projects around the world.
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by Postcode Support Trust. Established in 2015, this Trust provides funding to charities and good causes across Britain that are supporting older people to participate fully in their community, helping them to live happy and more fulfilled lives.
Local charities benefit, too. Earlier this year, Grove Park Charitable Trust were awarded £10,000 to buy and install Clevertouch interactive screens at Grove Park School, which caters for children with special needs. This technology will help their pupils speak, learn and play regardless of their level of ability.
