It's a super Sunday for five lucky players from Seamer who have each scooped a wonderful £30,000 cheque. The windfall came for the winners after their postcode, YO12 4NL, was drawn as a winner of today's Street Prize.
The neighbours found out how much they'd won over video calls with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt.
Lisa was our first winner to receive the good news. Lisa, who runs her own business, was thrilled when Judie revealed her £30,000 cheque. She said, "That's amazing! Oh my goodness! This is incredible I can't believe it. It was my dad that told me sign up. He's eagerly awaiting the news. I think he's more excited than I am!"
Lisa, her teenage daughters and her partner have recently moved house, so the win has come at a great time. She said, "We've just moved into a nice new home but it's completely bare. I'm a big fan of interior design so it will be amazing to be able to finally do it up. The back garden is also a space I really want to enjoy. I've spent weeks designing it and now can afford it. I thought we'd have to save up for ages! Everyone has realised over the last few months how important outdoor space is, so to share it with family and friends will be amazing.
"It will be nice to finally book a nice holiday, too! Me and my partner have always wanted to go to Cuba so that's high on the list. I'm such a fan of the Philippines too, so definitely somewhere exciting!
"It just eases everything. Anything you second-guess you don't need to worry about. To have the freedom to do the stuff we really want to do. I'm usually super-cautious so I will make sure it stretches!"
With two teenagers, Lisa will likely treat them. However, surprisingly, they haven't asked for anything yet. She said, "My kids are such good kids. My eldest daughter has just turned 18 but she really doesn't ask for anything. When she knew I'd won something she just asked if I was going to do something with the garden! My son is 13 this weekend so he's been going crazy with everybody. It's great timing."
Before leaving the video call, Lisa added, "I feel like I'm in a dream, it doesn't feel real!"
Celebrate In Style
Lucky Chloe was on a family holiday in Kos, Greece when our Postcode Lottery team video-called her. When she saw the cheque she exclaimed, "No way! Wow! That is amazing. I can't believe it. I don't know what to say. I feel a bit sick!"
When asked what she'd spend her winnings on, Chloe was still in shock. She said, "I just can't even comprehend it really. I have a one-year-old daughter so I'm sure a lot will go on her, but it's hard to think. I'll maybe get a conservatory for my new house, or maybe do something with my back garden as it's just a big grassy area at the moment."
Chloe and her family have been enjoying the sunshine and plan to celebrate her win in style. She said, "The weather has been gorgeous. I've been playing in the pool all day with my daughter and nephews. We've just been having a good time.
"We'll need to go out for a nice tea tonight to celebrate. Maybe get some cocktails. It's a lovely surprise, the best ever!"
After the call Judie McCourt said, "It was lovely to virtually meet Lisa and Chloe and give them some good news. A big congratulations to the other winners too! I hope everyone enjoys treating themselves with their win."
