Player Wins Big In Brigg

14 May - DN20 0AE - Brigg - £30,000

One lucky Brigg resident got a very exciting visit this weekend when Judie McCourt arrived at her door with a cheque for £30,000.

The postcode DN20 0AE was drawn as the winner of the weekend's second Street Prize. Joanne Shearwood from Coronation Gardens was the only person playing with the winning postcode.

Joanne said she is still in shock over the win. "I can't believe it! I know everyone says it but I didn't think that something like this would ever happen to me. I'm not going to have a day like this again!

"The money is going to make a huge difference – for me, £30,000 really is life-changing. I've got some debt to pay off and my car is on finance, so it's great that I'll be able to pay those. I'll also be able to treat myself and my daughter to a trip abroad in the school holidays. The security that this brings us is the most amazing thing."

Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt said, "I'm thrilled for Joanne! She was completely gobsmacked when she pulled the cheque out, and it was great to hear about what she'll do with the money and how it will help her."

A minimum of 30% of the ticket price goes directly to charities. Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £197 Million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A local charity in the winning area that has received support from players is Home Start Lincolnshire, which was awarded £17,673 last year for a family gardening project.

There were also some lucky winners in Porthcawl this weekend, as CF36 3QA was drawn as the winner of the Saturday Street Prize.
