It's a marvellous Monday for two Walthamstow neighbours as they have each scooped £30,000 today thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery. The windfall came for the Macdonald Road neighbours after their postcode, E17 4AY, was drawn as a winner of our Monday Street Prize in September's #30KADAY celebrations.
One of our lucky winners was Georgina, who works in the health and social care sector. She said, "When I saw the numbers on the cheque it was all a bit of a blur! I really can't believe it. This money means so much, it's going to change things for me and the kids. It's my son's birthday soon and being able to say, 'what do you want for your birthday?' is absolutely amazing - for me that's the biggest thing, it's come at a fabulous time.
"I think I'll get my nails done and maybe get a new handbag. It will also help with a few DIY projects throughout the house."
As our other winner wasn't available to collect their cheque, their winnings will be paid directly into their bank account.
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier was in Walthamstow to deliver our golden envelopes. He said, "Massive congratulations to our wonderful winners in Walthamstow's E17 4AY. What better way to start the week than finding out you've just won an incredible £30,000!"

As one of the leading children's charities, Barnardo's helps more than 300,000 vulnerable children, young people and families across the UK. They do this by providing essential services and offering preventative and intensive support across a range of issues including exploitation, abuse, disability inclusion, vocational training and mental health.
SafeHands for Mothers is one local charity that has benefited from the support of Postcode Lottery players. They received £10,000 from the People's Postcode Trust for their Teachers on the Frontline to End Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) programme - an initiative that provides teachers and schools in Walthamstow with the knowledge and tools to protect girls at risk of FGM.
