Wows Abound In Slough

17 October 2015 - SL2 5JF - Slough - £25,000

"People's Postcode Lottery saved my car!" That was the exclamation of Ajay Singh in Slough, who was thrilled to win £25,000. His postcode, SL2 5JF, was drawn as this week's Saturday Street Prize winner.

Ajay was at home with his daughter Joiti when he got a life-changing visit from People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt, who presented him with his cheque.

"I was not expecting that!" he said. "I'll never forget this day."

The very first thing that Ajay plans to do is restore his beloved 1967 Morris Minor Traveller. "I love my car, but it desperately needs work," he said. "I would never have been able to afford any repairs if I hadn't won the money, and I was on the verge of selling it. The Lottery really has saved it."

As well as fixing up his car, Ajay has said that the money will make life easier. "It really couldn't have come at a better time," he said. "I lost my job three years ago, and have struggled ever since. I am now a self-employed courier, but winning this money really is a relief. I'll also get work done on the house and put the rest into savings."

People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said, "It was great to meet Ajay today and present him with his cheque. It was obvious that he loves his car, so I'm pleased that the money will allow him to restore it properly."

Ajay isn't the first big winner in Slough in this year. In June, players in SL3 7 shared the £2 Million June Postcode Millions, with one winner, Deborah Lawrence, walking away with £400,000.
