Festive Riches For Rochester

23 December 2017 - ME2 4QU - Rochester - £30,000

One lucky winner in Rochester had a great start to the Christmas weekend, landing £30,000 in Saturday's Street Prize.

Decorator John, who plays with the winning postcode ME2 4QU, was delighted with his festive win.

He said, "Being self-employed, if I don't work I don't get paid, so it's nice to have a bit of extra money in the bank.

"I've had to get a few tooth implants, which is costing thousands of pounds, so this will help cover the cost of the dental treatment."

Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson surprised John with the golden envelope containing the winning cheque.

Congratulating him, Matt said, "John has got Christmas all wrapped up with £30,000 in the bank. If you'd like to be in with a chance of winning in 2018 then sign up to play with your postcode. Who knows, I could be knocking on your door in the New Year?"

To date, over £255 Million has been raised by players of People's Postcode Lottery for more than 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A local group that has received support from players is Medway Voluntary Action. The charity was awarded £6,600 this year to run community initiatives to tackle inequality.

This weekend, we also had lucky winners collecting £30,000 cheques in our Sunday Street Prize.
