A lucky lady from Stanway is celebrating after discovering she has scooped a £30,000 cash prize!
Our winner Catherine landed the phenomenal amount when her postcode, CO3 8BJ, was announced as the winner of Saturday's Street Prize.
Catherine was delighted with her win, and said, "It's hard to comprehend what's just happened but it's a very lovely surprise! I moved house a year ago and it was only recently that I remembered to change my address so I was playing with my new postcode - thank goodness I did!"
The win means that Catherine will be able to return to Hong Kong, where she lived for three years with her husband Nick. It's also where their first daughter was born. She said, "It would be amazing to go on a family holiday to Hong Kong, to see old friends and to show our children the places we tell them stories about. It's something that would never have been possible before."
Catherine's three daughters have also given her a few ideas on how to spend the windfall!
"My eldest is 16 and eager to learn to drive so I think I'll buy a small car for us to share, while my second daughter would like a new phone. My youngest is a massive Harry Potter fan and has been asking to see the Cursed Child at the West End but the tickets are so expensive, so it'll be great to be able to treat her to that now."
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier delivered Catherine's cheque to her. He said, "Getting to hand big cheques to lovely winners like Catherine is the best thing about my job and I couldn't be more thrilled for her. If you would like to see me standing outside your door with a golden envelope in hand, then make sure you're playing with your postcode."
32% of the ticket price goes to charities. To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised £330 Million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. This week's Street Prize was part of a draw promoted by Postcode Planet Trust.
En-form is one charity close to our winner that players have supported. The group was awarded £19,400 last year to help people across Essex become happier and healthier by introducing them to the joy of riding a bike through its cycling programme.
There were lucky winners elsewhere this weekend too, with eight neighbours winning fantastic prizes in Sunday's Street Prize.
